Craig Van Der Stelt Back In The 360ci Sprintcars

Craig Van Der Stelt was back in the Jeff Eeles owned Croft Constructions 360ci Sprintcar at Speedway City on Saturday 1st February after missing just over a season of 360ci competition. After spending the last two weekends sorting out a few bugs in the car the team were pleased with their run in the latest round of the Speedway City 360ci Sprintcar track championship moving up from seventh starting spot in the A Main to finish in a respectable second position.

“After the disappointment of losing our 410ci motor while running strongly at the South Australian title the last time we were at Speedway City it was good for the team to come back with Jeff’s 360ci car and run so well,” said Craig. “In the final the track slicked off pretty quickly yet we were able to still move forward, closing in on the leader but just running out of laps after starting so far back. We certainly spent the right rear in the final trying to get the win as there wasn’t much tread left on it at the finish.”

Craig and the Croft Constructions 360ci Sprintcar team will be back in action at Speedway City in Adelaide next Friday night, February 16, during the annual Sprintcar Nationals. The last time Craig competed in the 360ci portion of the Sprintcar Nationals back in 2006 he completed a clean sweep of both feature races on the Friday and Saturday nights. The 360ci Sprintcars are only competing on the Friday night card at this year’s Sprintcar Nationals so the Croft Constructions team will be looking for another strong run to build some momentum into the Australian 360ci Sprintcar title in 3 weeks time.
